WELCOME
Welcome to the home of United States Marine Corps League, Detachment #1296. We are Marines, Corpsman, and Associates from the "East Valley" of the Phoenix Metro area. Some of our members even come from as far away as the Northern states.
The Marine Corps League perpetuates the traditions and spirit of ALL Marines and Navy FMF Corpsmen, who proudly wear or who have worn the eagle, globe and anchor.
Today, the League boasts a membership of about 70,000 men and women, officer and enlisted, active duty, Reserve Marines, honorably discharged Marine Veterans and qualified Navy FMF Corpsmen and is one of the few Veterans Organizations that experiences increases in its membership each year.
If you have any questions, you may reach us by viewing our Contact Us page."

MESSAGE FROM THE COMMANDANT - Detachment #1296
We invite all Marines in the area to join us at
our monthly
meetings, both for camaraderie and for the benefit of our
community and our veterans. Please take time to check out some of
our recent activities.
- Each year we actively support the annual Toys for Tots campaign, distributing collection boxes and picking up donations throughout the East Valley
plus helping with the distribution of the toys.
- Our Marine Corps Birthday Ball
continues to sell out. We have had wonderful guest speakers
from around the country to address our attendees. The
Ball scheduled for November 7, 2020 had to be cancelled because of
this year's COVID concerns. We are already working on our plans for the November 2021 event.
-
Our annual Spring Golf Tournament also raises funds for our
Marines Helping Veterans program. Information will be coming out on this website, so keep checking back.
You can link from the Scuttlebutt section in the right-hand column
for more about our many programs. ...and it’s not all work!
We take time to enjoy each other’s company through social
activities too, so if you
are looking for “war stories” and camaraderie join us. Our meeting place (Oakwood Country Club) has a wonderful
dining room. Enjoy a meal and then gather with your fellow Marines and Corpsman at the meeting.
